Head of Operations (m/f/d)

As BASPI's first Head of Operations, you will take full ownership of everything between order and delivery, building the processes, systems, and team that underpin our global growth from the ground up, with a clear path to COO as we scale.

BASPI develops and builds ultra-low-noise electronics and filtering solutions for quantum science and technology. Our instruments are used by leading research institutions and industrial R&D teams worldwide to push the boundaries of quantum systems at ultra-low temperatures.

BASPI is growing fast: we are scaling up our diverse 15-member team and operations in Basel to meet increasing market demands. This role sits at the center of that growth.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Head of Operations to take full ownership of everything between order and delivery. You will work directly with the CEO and engineering team to build BASPI’s operational infrastructure to support rapid global growth while maintaining the precision and reliability our customers expect, and grow into a COO role as the company expands.

What You Will Do

  • Own the full order-to-delivery process, from incoming order through production, testing,and shipment, including implementation of the ERP

  • Build and implement scalable production, customer support and operations processes in line with our growth

  • Lead production planning, quality control, and supply-chain management

  • Define and track operational KPIs; identify and drive continuous improvement

  • Push automation and efficiency in production and testing workflows

  • Build and lead an operations team as we scale

  • Contribute directly to company strategy alongside the CEO

What We Look For

  • 5–10 years of experience in operations or engineering, ideally in hardware, deep-tech, or
    precision instrumentation

  • Track record of building processes from scratch, not just managing existing ones

  • Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional teams, and comfortable working hands-on in a small, dynamic, and fast-moving team setting

  • Strong technical understanding of complex hardware systems; able to engage meaningfully with engineers

  • Push automation and efficiency in production and testing workflows

  • Build and lead an operations team as we scale

  • Contribute directly to company strategy alongside the CEO
