A spin-off of the physics department, BASPI is located at the university campus in Basel. Our team of low-noise electronic experts works closely with the quantum and low-temperature research groups here in the house. Main tasks and responsibilities:
Production of silver-epoxy based cryogenic microwave filters
Production and assembly of low-noise ultra-stable electronic laboratory instruments
Assisting in packing, shipping and other ad-hoc tasks
Purchasing of components, warehousing and inventory management
Calibrating and testing high-end electronic devices and documentation
Preparation and maintenance of technical documents (datasheets, manuals, etc.)
Support for R&D efforts; ad-hoc measurements and data analysis
Supporting technical customer service
Occasionally attending exhibitions and customer visits
Strengths of the candidates:
Technical background in a mechanical, electrical or chemical workshop, or science and engineering
Work experience as a laboratory assistant or technician is a plus
Self-motivated with a high level of responsibility and an independent work attitude
Excellent organization and communication skills
Exceptional teamwork
Good verbal and written English; German is a plus
